STOP POSTING CONTENT
…that doesn’t grow your audience.
Posting every day won’t necessarily grow your audience.
In order to grow your following, it’s more important to post consistently than frequently.
What’s the difference?
Posting consistently is posting at the same time, every time, within a specific time period. For example, consistent posting could be once a week, two times a month, or every day of the week, but the point is that you are showing up when you say you will.
Posting frequently is how much you’re posting within a specific time period. For example, posting five times a week is a higher frequency than posting once a week.
The point is: finding a frequency that allows you to be consistent is one of the keys to growing your audience. Showing up inconsistently is one of the ways indie artists hurt their growth.
If your audience doesn’t know when to expect you, they forget about you and are less likely to see and engage with your posts. If they know you post a video once a week, they’re more likely to tune in and engage.
Favoring consistency over frequency trains your audience to expect excellence every time you show up. If you’re losing quality in your content to keep up with a schedule that isn’t manageable, people will begin to expect low-quality content from you.
Once you lock into a schedule that allows you to be consistent, then, and only then, raise the frequency to show up excellently, more often.
Master what you can, then scale as much as you can.
